Directions

Lost Canyon is located on the western edge of the Texas Hill Country near Barksdale in Real County, 50 miles due north of Uvalde off Highway 55.

Map of Area

From San Antonio: 2.5 hours. Take Hwy. 90 to Uvalde. Go north from there on Hwy 55 (this involves a right turn at the town square, then a left turn at the north edge of town just after the railroad overpass). Take Hwy 55 through Camp Wood to Barksdale, where the only right turn you can make is Country Road 381. There is a blue and white sign for Lost Canyon at the intersection (but it can be hard to see at night), take the country road (also known as Dry Creek Road) 4 miles (use your odometer - it's a long four miles) to our gate, which is on the left.

From Austin: 3.5 to 4 hours. You can go to San Antonio and follow the directions from there. A much more pleasant and scenic route (that takes little if any more time) is to take Hwy 290 through Fredericksburg to Harper. A few miles beyond Harper turn left on Farm Road 479. Go 8 miles to I-10. Get on I-10 going west, but get off at the first exit, after only about a mile, which is the Hwy 41 exit, marked "Mountain Home".  Go west on Hwy 41 until it dead ends with Hwy 377.   Go south on 377 to Rocksprings.  Take Hwy 55 south to Barksdale where the only left turn you can make is County Road 381. There is a sign for Lost Canyon at the intersection (but it can be hard to see at night). Take this County road (also known as Dry Creek Road) 4 miles (use your odometer - it is a long four miles)to our gate, which is on the left.
